I read a doc to install woody on an ibook (in French)[1]. In this page,
the author seems to indicate that it is possible to drive the CRT output
with some Xfree Radeon driver options.
In particular It points to a Xfree 4.3 man pages[2] that mentions some
very interesting Clone* option.

The best way to fix that is to check the permissions on /dev/ttya and

Do a 'usermod -G group_name userid' to add your login account to the

My personal opinion is that Apple laptops are great hardware, but the

Hello,
I suggest you the Apple iBook, it works fine with Debian GNU/Linux
and is quite fast for multimedia applications, furthermore it looks
pretty and is not heavy in weight as many other x86 laptops.
I've bought my iBook when I had your same doubts, now I wouldn't change

Hi all,
To the original poster: I have installed OS X on an otherwise Linux
TiBook. I had one big scratch partiton of 30 gig that I deleted and
split in two. That repartitioning needs to be done from within Linux
though; mac-fdisk will just not touch any partitions that stay the same.
So you can r

im currently thinking about buying a laptop. basically i

x86 ones are alot cheaper.
besides the nice design of the hardware, are there any
reasons? (i would only use debian on it, so things like

This is as far as I got. I get the error message with both graphics and
RS232 console. I tested it on both p610 and 44P-170. I booted via
BOOTP/tftp and mounted the root file system via NFS.
It is also interesting that the 'rootpath' parameter is empty, see below.

I installed pilot-manager and connected my TREO 270. When I click the

I am trying to set the parameters in order to boot the correct kernel
image. As some list members wrote, I am using the nvsetenv command.
This is the configuration set by me with nvsetenv command:

Slowly I am customising my mac to Debian - it is a lot of fun. I still
do not like the fonts in my mozilla. What can I do to get a bigger font
selection - would like Arial. In the 'preferences' of Mozilla I can
choose from 'serif' and 'sans-serif'. That is not a lot. What can I do

Hace unos días instalé en un PowerPC 7200/90 Debian 3.0, inicié dicha
