I'm trying to upgrade to kernel 2.4.
I have normally been using 2.2.20-pmac which came
with woody and which works well with my PowerMac 7500.
Thought I would check out and see what 2.4 has to
offer, downloaded the source and rsynced it from
benh's tree following the instructions at
penguingppc.org.

I installed potato from CD (the $9.95 price for the potato build
was easier for me to swing than the $21 for woody) on a Powermac
8500/200 with 128 MB of RAM and 2 2GB scsi drives (1 is partitioned

Hello !
The latest DRI trunk have the "flip flop" problem noticed on some
earlier version of DRI trunk : when the LID is closed, the backlight
is turned off, then on, then off.
The problem disappeared from DRI trunk of Oct 10. I have not tried DRI
trunk of Nov 25. However, DPMS is working again,

The console prompt itself.. since I wasn't able to do anything (since
xdm/gdm was having problems cos of the video card), I used the install
CD, executed a shell from the install program, mounted the Linux
partition on

Hi,
since I upgraded to xfree86 4.2.1-3 (sarg) the left and right Control,
Command and Alt keys generate the same keycodes:
Contrl_L and Control_R 37
Alt_L and Alt_R 64
Cmd_L and Cmd_R 115
Because of that I can't use Alt_R as AltGr anymore.
BTW, on the VT Conso
Sunshine and beautiful days to all of you!
As Lucas Vergnettes pointed out on the 9th sleep on machines equipped
with the Mobile Radeon 7500 (M7) is still an issue. Does anyone now
what's happening in these realms? Ben, have you heard anything new from
the ATI guys?
Peace,
Leif.

Hi,
I managed to install woody on a iBook2 and I seemed to have configured
X properly since I can run Icewm.
However, Mozilla (and galeon) crashes X when it accesses a web page.
Moreover, I replaced icewm by kde2 in my .xinitrc and KDE crashes
