The missing menus are normally a sign of modules not being built
in gnome-vfs2. The current build of gnome-vfs2 on ppc is definitely
broken with some missing modules but no one has done binary only
rebuild on voltaire. Follow through the thread on...

Hi again,
'modprobe airport' seems to work.
So I try to connect to my base station with the following lines in my

Hi
I updated my pages about debian on the new iBook2.

I am not sure which problem rebuilding gnome-vfs2 is supposed to solve
but I have done it and restarted X without any difference.
Thanks,

Christophe,
The current gnome-vfs2 build on ppc is fubar'd. If you
do an apt-get source and rebuild it locally, once gnome-vfs2
is re-installed using a local build it should work fine. It
appears to be a reoccurring problem with gnome-vfs2 that modules
are not built. I suspect some Build-Depends

Press "option" after the boot chime, select linux and run ybin
as root. It should work (I think).
Hope this helps, Roger...

I have just installed gnome2 from experimental.
It works fine except two problems :
The 'Applications' menu is empty. I guess a package is missing but I
have no idea which one.
Some icons in toolbar of gnome1 apps are corrupted.
I haven't these problems on my intel computer so perhaps it's a pro

Ben.
It's a wierd day.
I dual boot Debian and MacOSX on my Ti PowerBook. It has been working fine for
quite a whiile.
Today, I started my laptop and it did not display the usual yaboot screen
giving me a choice between OSX and Dabian. It simply booted to OSX (default).
Has anyone experienced the s

Thanks for your config file. It works perfectly.
I will publish all my configuration details, as soon as possible,
for the next TiBook users.
Thanks again.
I will certainly be back to you for the next config problem.

I've sent you my XF86Config-4 privately, but I had to use BenH's
2.4.20-pre5-ben0 kernel to get the video card detected properly for the frame
buffer to work.

I am using branden's 4.2 package and I am unable to get X working.

Hello all,
I have a list of packages kept back (every time I issue an apt-get update this
is recalled by apt-get).
I have used aptitude to try to understand why these are kept back. They're all
related to
xfree 4.2.1.pre0 while I'm currently having a 4.1.0-17 runinng X environment.
How could I

I've got one of the latest PowerBooks (1280x854) and am trying to get my
airport card to work.
Using BenH's 2.4.20-pre5-ben0 kernel sources:
I've built with PCMCIA support, failed to detect PCMCIA bridge.
I've then tried building without PCMCIA support, built and installed

I have now run some tests suggested by Charles Tillman and Michel Lanners.
The results differ if I run them from the boot floppy or from the ramdisk image via BootX. 'e2fsck -c /dev/hda3' (the root partition is now at hda3) when I boot from the ramdisk yields
