Hi all!
I've got a puzzling problem with my ftp server and I'm hoping someone might
be able to offer an investigative starting point.
FTP server (I've used both wu-ftpd and just now installed ncftpd) stalls 2/3

megabytes) Thi
I was told recently on this list that the task-* system is being taken
out back being shot. I don't know what is replacing it. Since you're
using testing and unstable, well, sounds like it's just one of those
things you'll have to wait for a resolution, or join the conversation

A few weeks, I did an "apt-get upgrade" on my Titanium and now my system
wont upgrade many packages. I'm using testing and unstable with testing
being the default.
apt-get returns all sorts of errors and I think it is a perl script
which is part of debconf. I have searched the archives but

This thread is about the X server segfaulting in an inb(). That simply doesn't
happen without the syscall.

I've recently fixed the annoying Radeon engine init problem and placed a
patch against XFree86 4.1.0 radeon driver and a binary radeon_drv driver
at:
ftp://ftp.linuxppc.org/users/ajoshi/radeon
The binary driver can be unzipped and placed in
/usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers/ along with ati_drv.o.

thanks for the note, yes this did work.
for others' reference, using the 2.4.3-benh kernel, i had to compile my
own current pcmcia-cs (the one in unstable didn't work)
i had to modify the file /etc/pcmcia/config.opts to contain
include port 0x100-0x4ff, port 0x1000-0x17ff
include memory 0x80

apt-get install xfonts-base
You probably want -75dpi or -100dpi and -scalable and/or -scalable-nofree as
well.

First of all, your XF86Config is clearly converted from a 3.3.x one

turn down the speaker volume, they are different outputs
When I play music on my tibook (ogg123 -d oss .ogg), even when I
have headphones plugged in, the speaker emits sound too, which more or
less defeats the purpose:-)
Ideas?
Thankyou,

Hello everyone,
Round 2:
I have reinstalled woody (after my boot floppy test failed), by going
from reistalling potato and then upgrading to woody. I foolishly didn't
back up my X settings, because I had X 4.0.3 working just fine before.
Lesson Learned.
However, I went through some of the same pr
Hi,
I have some difficulties to configure xfree86 on my ppc G3/266 beige.
I installed xfree86 4.0.3 and used xf86config to configure it. When I
try startx I the x server shut down. Could someone help me.
thanks
Vincent

well it doesn't ;-)
b-f is just a convenient dumping ground for these utilities since it
puts them next to boot images.

Excuse me I have done a mistake because I work both with Debian and (sigh!!)
Windows (but where I work I must use Windows).
When I start the system (Debian), start "fsck" .
