Hello everyone, Round 2: I have reinstalled woody (after my boot floppy test failed), by going from reistalling potato and then upgrading to woody. I foolishly didn't back up my X settings, because I had X 4.0.3 working just fine before. Lesson Learned.
However, I went through some of the same process to restore X back to working order. Since I have a Voodoo3 card, I went to http://v.favrenicolin.free.fr/linuxppc/linuxppc-tdfx.php3 to get the patched kernel and modules for my setup (Beige G3/266) and the config files...No dice. My latest error is toward the end of the log, below: can't find default font 'fixed'. I don't get that. I saw another post on this same problem, but I'm not too clear on the resolution.
