You can set this option by doing:
echo 1 >/proc/sys/dev/mac_hid/keyboard_sends_linux_keycodes
or by using the kernel argument "keyboard_sends

Are you talking about X when you mention "Keyboard sends Linux
keycodes" or is that some kernel argument? At the moment X is not a
priority for me (just getting stable console would make my day!)
Do you think it is best to wait for 2.6 rather than submit the driver

Thanks Steve, I ran e2fsck /dev/sdb4 and told it "yes" on all the errors and on
reboot everything worked as with the initial install. Unfortunately, now i'm

You probably need to modify your X server config to point at the correct
mouse device. If you are running a recent kernel, including the

Hi,
I want to compile the kernel 2.4.0 for my pismo. To test the new kernel
without changing the yaboot.conf file, what do I have to type at the boot
prompt of yaboot? something like
image=vmlinux-2.4.0 root=/dev/hda10 ?
Thanks for help

do not apply to lilo.conf:

to try Debian.
I have a three disk set and have installed the packages and booted

Can anybody help please?

Quick follow-up to my previous message. On reboot after the initial boot
failure (see previous message below) I get the error message that "/dev/sdb4
was not cleanly unmounted, check forced."
At this point, I get a huge number of SCSI errors, as follows:

Thank you to everyone who responded to my initial question about getting Debian

I've gotten BootX going and pointing to sdb4 where I've installed the /

been getting many SCSI errors at various stages in the install
process as well as on restart (the time I was lucky enough to get
that far).
I have a Quantum Fireball TM2100s Rev 300Z which I am attempting to

Does anyone know which driver to use for the Palm USB->serial adapter, and what
the major and minor device numbers are?
I'd like to use this so I can use minicom (serial comm program) to hook up
my powerbook to the serial port of a Sun box and get to the console.
Thanks.
