problem with gdm running woody & 2.2.17pre13-ben2

After upgrading to woody, I'm having problems with gdm. It doesn't react to keyboard input. I have logged in remotely and played with showkeys (typed on the machine's keyboard then) and restarted gdm, and it worked again. Don't know what exactly helped in the end. Any ideas? Michel -- Ear
