vcodec-gpl2-XY should Provide:
libavcodec-gpl2 (ie, an unversioned name) so that packages that
conflict with gpl3 can do so easily by depending on the virtual
package. Or alternatively do similarly with libavcodecXY providing
libavcodec-gpl3 and making packages Conflict with that virtual
package.

default which confused me a bit). Is it possible to trick the gnome
applet into manipulating the hardware mixer instead of the pulseaudio
mixer?

Currently there is no version of ardour in testing. However, ardour-gtk no
longer exists: it has been replaced by ardour. Apparently ardour hasn't
entered testing because it hasn't been built on mips and mipsel.
