Ah, I just found: https://readme.phys.ethz.ch/documentation/debian_version_numbers/ So for xserver-xorg-video-savage_2.3.8-1, backported to jessie, the version would be: xserver-xorg-video-savage_2.3.8-1.1~bpo8+1 rather than xserver-xorg-video-savage_2.3.8-1+nmu1~bpo8+1 ? Thanks, Nicholas
