Are *.m4 files usually distributed in -dev packages, or are they only needed
for those who compile CVS apps?

The Imlib maintainer has given all Imlib using app maintainers a copy of Imlib
compiled w/ jpeg 62 for testing. Should be uploaded soon.

That would probably suffice, then - at least once slink becomes
stable... I'm afraid I don't know how difficult (or trivial) it would be
to use the slink images for installing hamm.
In any event, when I first put those images together I don't think that
the versions in slink were yet available.

confirmation of maintainer status.
