yesterday i had a look about traffic statistics of live.debian.net.
these are the numbers for http outgoing traffic only[0] back to the
beginning of october 2010 where i've moved live.debian.net from a
physical host into a container (lxc) where it currently resides on one
of my servers:

I noticed in booting 6.0.4 and others that I was getting a "unable to
resolve host debian" message
I have resolved this by tweaking the following
cat /etc/hosts
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
127.0.0.2 debian
cat /etc/hostname
debian
