Even if wc(1) is for some reason deemed necessary, ls(1) is
useless in this case. Roughly speaking, the difference between
$ ls foo* and $ printf %s\\n foo* is t

Please consider the (untested) patch MIME'd.
Fixed two filename handling issues in bin/live-update-initramfs.
bin/live-update-initramfs: Fixed: use absolute filenames while
counting initramfs images (were: relative to CWD); derive their
version numbers properly (were: containing the leadi

Apparently, there is some DNS i
Aren't there pre-built “live” images for Debian Wheezy
(snapshots)? I've checked [1, 2], but found none.

Please add LVM support in live-initramfs, so that it will become
possible to host Live filesystem images on LVM logical volumes.
To do that, two changes are to be made:

I see that even if the gPXE option to securily check the kernel
and initramfs images after downloading is used, NFS has still

Please consider the following patch.
This one makes the `live' script handle the root= kernel
parameter in cases other than using `plainroot' or network boot.
In particular, it allows one to override the results of
autodetection (in case one gets several dev

What about the following?

To get DebianLive/live-helper on your machine, use aptitude or
Synaptic for sid. Otherwise have a look at one of these options:
* DebianLive/Backports (for Etch)
* git clone

What's the way to install Debian Live on an LVM logical volume?
I know that neither kernel nor initramfs image can reside on an
LVM volume since the bootloaders don't support these, thus a
separate partition would be necessary for them (not to mention
