Hi,
I'm in the middle of an install, and I can't get my external PCMCIA CD-ROM
to mount. I'm installing the newest Slink on an IBM ThinkPad 755c, and the
CD-ROM is an old EXP 940. I've configured PCMCIA with the CD-ROM, the light
comes on and it opens and closes, but it won't mount when I go
Is there a way to edit pcmcia.conf or cdrom.opts or is there a boot
parameter that will make my EXP-940 CD-ROM get recognized as a CD-ROM. Right now
it is being recognized as: "tty00 is a 16550A". My card is listed in
pcmcia.conf, but in supported.cards it says that some work and some don't.
where to put it I would be most appreciative.
I've read the documentation, and it's very vague on the CD-ROM's--or maybe I
just don't know what I'm looking for.
Thank you,
Marc

Unfortunately not _all_ of the publishing houses provide complete and
quality controlled disks. If you didn't get an Official debian cd, you might
want to consider doing so before moving on.
I am pretty happy with this $1.98 set from linuxmall:
