AFAIK there is no proprietary linux drivers from Synaptic for their
touchpads.

my inspiron 8100 laptop to debian (currently I run mandrake). But now I have some

feeling the problem lies in the fact that certain things aren't
unmounted; since, I remember getting a warning about the pcmcia modules
not unloading on the upgrade.
