Sometimes (maybe once every day) the transfer speed goes down to about
12 kB/s (the connection is much faster) and it's slow to do several

Dear Karl,
I've got indeed the same problem, but unfortunately I can't pull my NIC
out (onboard). But ssh sessions seem very quick at fresh start but when
more programs go on the same cable (www, mail etc), a new ssh session
takes approximate 5 a 10 seconds before the password prompt appears..

Hello!
The touchpad of the acer TravelMate 220 works fine with gpm and X using
the ps2 protocol. But the "scroll" buttons that correspond to the wheel of
a mouse don't work under X. If I try to use the ImPS/2 protocol, the mouse
behaves strange and jumps around.
Maybe it is helpful if I cite the

Just try the Synaptics driver http
Lars,
first is gpm also set to imps/2 (gpmconfig)
second try shutting down gpm
I have had the same on: Compaq armada 1592DT
And now also on the Dell C510
Although both machines didn't have scroll buttons onboard, but i wanted
scroll to work due to a external ps2 scroll mouse.
