I have a 340S2 laptop (from DigitalStar Computers, although from what I can
gather it is a generic manufactured by a CastleInc Technology). It seems to

Hello. I installed Debian in my friend's Thinkpad 365XD but I'm having all
kind of weird problems with X. Anyone can help?
First, I can't run 800x600; if I try, the screen just go black.
Running 640x480 with X 3:

I have a Toshiba satellite 2800-s201 laptop with sid on it. Everything
works fine except for acceleration on X. I'm using XFree86 4.1 with the
savage driver, and everything works fine, except when I try to play 3d
games such as tux racer. Tux Racer runs incredibly slow, somewhere

2.4.19-pre8's, btw the driver comes with 2.4.18 does not work well at
all), pcmcia-cs 3.1.33:

I get similar issues - interesting of note, however - is I tried switching
to a belkin 'wireless notebook network card' and had basically the same
problems. My access point (at home) is the dlink 713p, which I expect is
the cause of my problems (and perhaps yours) because I *don't* have these

I don't have any issues disconnecting from the wireless interface. I use a
Lucent Orrinoco Silver card and a SMC access point. This is under 2.4.18 using
the orrinoco_cs driver. I imagine the issue is with your cards firmware and/or
the firmware of your AP
