I have been setting up a new laptop, a ThinkPad T20. So far so
good...except that after a suspend, sound doesn't work and the
applications that want to use sound seem to hang for about 30 seconds
before doing anything.
Basic setup: kernel 2.2.17 with APM, ALSA for sound, apmd running,

does anyone on this list have a T20 with the 3com 3c556B mini pci nic, and
gotten it working?
i found some experiemental patches on the vortex mailing list but before i
delve into it i'd like to know that someone who isn't developing the code
has it working :)

software for my brialle-display over the serial-port (/dev/ttyS0).
However, upon starting irmanager for the IrDA interface, ttyS0 seems to
crahs/get disconnected/any other reason.

I realise that this is a touch off topic, but the keyboard on my laptop
(an acer travelmate 521te) has several extra functions (accessible by
pushing the `Fn' button + F1 to F8), some of which generate keycodes under
X. Is there any way to assign macros to these keys under WindowMaker,
