My Dell Inspiron has the same chip and after multiple attempting upgrading
the kernel (from 4.2) solves the sound. But if you want the best experience
with acceleration with your display, you have to upgrade other packages
like mesa, xserver-xorg-video-intel, libdrm
Please add backports repository andò then you've got 4.x kernel serie

One last thing... If you have multiple kernels installed,
ls -l from / shows that /vmlinuz points to the most recent kernel. It is an
easy way to find out this information.

Hi, everybody. I managed to solve the ACPI problem by compiling my own
2.6.20.6 kernel. I also had to tweak around a lot before I could get
iptables working properly, but now it's fixed.

installed Debian in early December 2006. I noticed with the first update
(circa late December), that my wi-fi connection (Madwifi) wasn't functioning
after installation. I reconfigured it and all was well. I
I use WEP
encryption and not WPA encryption.
Does anyone else have an idea on what I need to do to get this working?
