Dear all:
Although I'm relatively new to this list, I consider to have being listening
time enough to start my first threads. I'll try to help, as best I can as well.
I've got a Dell inspiron 510m, running testing with a 2.6.14.5. I have tried
several times to get the video output to a TV.
there's an issues fixed since A30 release that say: "4.
Append the TV out function into Intel 2984 VBIOS on Inspiron 1100." (by the way,
it was pretty easy the bios update procedure for inspiron
1100)

full screen film there is nothing visible, everything is blured. AFAIR 2

any success story about tv-out and 855gm?
I've tried myself on a PAL tv and got black & white output on tv with a
very low resolution. I guess there should be some way to tell the driver
which PAL standard to use and some specific section about tv display.
some hints?

Does XFree 4.3 drivers for intel 855gm chipsets (commonly used in

It seams that i855GM has a Chrontel 70xx lvds bridge or so... does the
stock driver handle it?
Thanks,

Hi smurfd,
TV Out is used for displaying your laptop's screen on a TV (for playing
videos or doing a presentation or whatnot). V4L, BTTV, and XawTV, are
for TV tuners, that let you watch TV on your computer. The Inspiron 1100
doesn't have a tuner (or at least, mine doesn't).
