my inetd.conf was a bad example apparently
$ dpkg -S /etc/yp.conf
nis: /etc/yp.conf
gave nicer results... sorry for the hassle ;-)

/etc/inetd.conf isn't owned by anything, afaik. It's created by
netkit-inetd, but not removed on purge.
