Hello,
I would like to share my experience with installing Debian Linux on
Compaq mentioned in topic, aka P500.
1. Skill level needed to install Debian Linux: moderate

time it went fine. After restart it

speedstep_ich works up to ICH4, according to the kernel doc.
If you've got another southbridge, try to load speedstep-centrino insetad.
There's a slight possibility speedstep can be screwed through
a BIOS update, http://www.thisishull.net/archive/index.php/t-206020.html

Hi!
I'm a COMPAQ Presario 2500. I like work on text mode (with
console). In console, the work area is the middle of the total screen.
Anyone know anything about this problem?
Thank you!
