Although I'm not familiar with this thread, I don't agree with last
comment. I don't like using KDE/Gnome. I actually don't use desktop
manager at all, I just use flucbox on top of X and that's it... I
have installed debian/linux on 2 laptops (inspiron 600M and ibm T40)
with such configuration..

Hello.
Your scripts is definitely better, thanks. One thing I can't understand:
why should we run some commands in subshell and why so many sleeps (one
for avoiding race between powerbutton and lid).
Well, about screen:
First, I have to correct myself. Screen sometimes remains blank,
sometimes it

Additionally -- I looked through the log, looks like after suspend lid
opening generates power button event. Well, it's not a problem to make a
simple check (for powerbutton: if some lockfile is present, remove it;
otherwise shutdown; for lid: create lock and suspend).
I did so and laptop awakened,
Hello.
Already tried this option -- no effect.

Hello all.
Finally, I installed Sarge on my Compaq Presario 2200, but I face
following problem:
laptop can be suspended-to-ram by `echo mem > /sys/power/state' (and
suspending works fine -- led blinks slowly, display shutting down and so
on), but it can't awake from this state. Opening lid or pres
