Recently the kernel was updated to 2.6.25. However, when booting with this
kernel there is eventually a complete freeze. Sometimes the system freezes
during booting, sometimes well after login and independent of any input by
me.

The thing with ACPI is that there needs to be interaction between the
BIOS and the OS. Most vendors apparently only make sure that the BIOS
plays nice with some other OS.
Well, I now call hibernate when closing the lid and found out that opening
the lid restarts the box and when using an alternate gr
rtunately ...)
I guess this is a problem of the Kernel but I'm not sure how to report this and
if people suspect cooncidences with SwSusp2.

the power button to awake. But after waking up acpid detects the pressed
power button and initiate the shutdown sequence :-(
My solution is to stop acpid before suspend and restart it during the wake
up sequence.

keep the configurations in sync. Imagine, you have 3 or 4, or even more,
configurations for exim, you change a line and then you have to copy the
new configuration 3 or 4 times and change every config file so that the
smarthost entries are not lost.
