That kind of conflicts with an earlier question: KV: > Do you have something like 'ACPI: Power Button (FF) [PWRF]' in dmesg? AT: No.
I was aware this conflict when I wrote this mail - but at the time I wrote my first response to this message there was definitely no PWRF line in the dmesg output. I had rebooted in between several times but did not change something which might have influenced this behaviour. Kind of a mystery ...
Sure, but if you're going to ask on the kernel list, they probably just point you to the ACPI list. Just like ALSA stuff.
Thanks for this hint.
Well, I now call hibernate when closing the lid and found out that opening the lid restarts the box and when using an alternate grub menu.list this nearly works as good as suspend to ram. So why should I whine. :)
If the manual says that it can do it, I always have to prove that by actually doing it.
This is definitely right. I just spoke about whining because my situation has imporved yesterday. It defintely should work as described but I'm able to stay patient ... ;-)
Kind regards
Andreas.
