Drivers for Maestro 3i soundcard

I have a Dell Inspiron 3800 with a ESS Maestro 3i sound card. The maestro driver in kernel 2.2.17 doesn't seem to work.(The source states that it only is for the versions 1, 2 and 2E) Anybody have a pointer to a good patched version of this driver ? Virtually Yours Pontus Ul
