Hello Imre,
indeed, I had *not* switched to 4 GB. It was very trivial, and in

I am currently recompiling the Kernel and will submit my results when I boot

Hello,
I do not have this notebook, but from what you are telling, could it
be a hardware problem? I mean, that the card is not correctly boot up
or powered and, thus, is not detected?

Hello,
I would like to suggest trying out "grandr", which is a graphical front-end
for xrandr. I have also used "arandr", which is another graphical
front-end, but it seems it is not available yet on lenny.

Hello Haines,
There are some other laptops/harwdare which let you activate both the
Speakers and the Headphones at the same time, since it's a software
configuration. The ones I've seen show the same behaviour you state under
Windows, but when under Linux, plugging in the Headphone jack does not

my best approach would be to first backup your current
xorg.conf. Then, I would download nVidia latest drivers. I
would exit the X environment, and stop gdm/xdm (whichever you
use). I would rename xorg.conf to something like

Wow, Paolo,
that's such a nice set of packages. I have never had the need, but
it's nice to know that they exist in case that need arises.
Thank you very much,
Jonas.

Hello Gerard,
last time I tried (about a month ago), I could not get gparted to do the
job, but I'll give you another solution which you may try: I used
"ntfsresize". What it does is change the NTFS filesystem to tell it the new
size it will have. After that, using any partition editor (I used
