I currently use the 2.6.16 kernel, but the patch I use also worked with the
2.6.15 kernel I previously used.
I use "suspend2". It is a patch that you apply to the kernel source tree.
Contrary to previous things that I have tried, suspend2 worked right away.

Hi,
I had a 2.6.13 custome compiled kernel for which the swsusp coming
from the kernel, ran OK (I can "acpitool -S" with it).
For kernels 2.6.14 and beyond (including 2.6.15), nothing I do seems
to help me out having it to hibernate. The debian 2.6.15 compiled
kernel that comes with etch does n

Regarding sound, although I know nothing about ubuntu, you can try:
ls -l /dev/mixer*
Usually the group associated to audio devices is "audio", so all you
would need to do is adding the non root member to the audio group...

Just keep in mind also fluxbox for your wm trials, its light and still
have lots of nice features, its pretty configurable, and there are
several styles available, someones havier than others. For remote
connections I just use "Clean" style, and I don't attach aditional
wallpaper and it's pretty l

ny idea of when is it planned to introduce the fix? I
read change_log for 2.6.11.9, and the fix seems not to be there, and I
also read change_log for 2.6.12-rc4, and there's no reference to this
problem there either...
Thanks a lot in advance,

I forgot to mention that I don't get any error messages, neither from
stdout, neither under /var/log/messages, neither under dmesg... So
apparently everything should work OK under 2.6.11.8 as it does for
2.6.10...

gain. Too bad I couldn;t get it to work on latest kernel though...
Has someone experienced the same? Any hints? I'm providing config
file I used for linux-2.6.11.8 just in case...
Thanks in advance (if possible please include me with [to] or [cc] so
that I get the answer directly)...

Hello everybody,
is there a list of optical devices connected to the computer via USB
which are supported by debian? What do I have to enable in my kernel
configuration to gain access to such devices?
Thank you very much in advance.
