ever since i installed debian i always have to issue "ifdown eth0" if i
wanna use wifi or "ifdown eth1" for ethernet.
i have tracked down the problem to the routing table which sets eth0 and
eth1 as default.
route del dev eth0
solves the problem - though the settings asre gone after a system

and everything worked like a charm on my ibm x40. about 2 weeks later

I bought an old IBM Thinkpad 760EL and installed SID on it.
unfortunately i am not too good in configuring X so it doesn't work
properly :(
I read two IBM 760EL howtos and user their XF86Config-4s
