I just downloaded a copy of the 2.4.20 kernel and noticed the ACPI support?
Anyone tried this out on a Thinkpad 600e? I didn't dive in like I usually
would because there was mention in the ACPI module that Thermal support must
be enabled, and I thought back to the whole LM_SENSORS problem... anyon

The module is not in the /lib/modules/ folder... it is possible I didn't
upgrade my kernel from 2.2.* to 2.4.* correctly. What is the correct
procedure for updating from the default 2.2.* Woody kernel to the new 2.4.*

I have recently moved to Debian and I am having problems getting my modem to
work again...
The modules inserts fine, and the demeaon starts ok, and pon creates the
neat modem sounds, but right at the point that the connection to my ISP is
nearly complete I get an error in the console:

I used pppconfig to set up my DialUp Worldnet account but it won't start
PPPD. I type 'pon worldnet' and it uses the modem alright, I hear all of
the annoying modem sounds, then it stops. I check ifconfig and nothing
happened. I have tried both CHAP and PAP and neither work and I have tried

I am running Woody 3.0 release 1 on a Thinkpad 600e. I have set up the
noflushd default file to not spin down the disk for 5 minutes but it seems
to ignore my commands always spinning down right after a disk write... I am
running a 2.4.18 custom kernel, which was an upgrade from the default 2.

I have been able to boot my Jigno CD of Woody 3.0r_1 on two other machines
with no problems, and I have booted Linux BBC on my Thinkpad 600e but Debian
will not boot off the CD. Is this a known bug?
