Hi
I have a Vaio PCG-U1 on which I recently installed Debian Etch with 2.6.18

the PCMCIA wifi card in the slot. Its a madwifi driven PCGA-C300s and its a 32
bit card. If I use a 16bit card, all is fine.

It is really over my knowledge, so I am just throwing ideas out. Can you help?
Thanks

Hi
When I shut down, my machine goes into suspend to ram twice. I have to wake it
up, and it goes further, sleeps again, wake it up, and finally shuts down. I
just had ACPI worked out, and since just recently I can go to suspend to RAM
and DISK as well. Now, why a shut down triggers a suspend-t

How can I put this in the script? I guess it is done with a "If - then"

Thanks for the help in advanced

Hi
Sorry, completely my fault. I forgot to ask what chipset you have. This is
only for the Intel 855, and not your ATI.

Hi
Sure, I use it already, it can get done. But you need to run a script every
time you boot.

Here is the patch, and how to use it. I personally made a script called
"resolutionfix" and put it in /etc/init.d/ and made it executable. I then ran
"rcconfig" in w
e.

Hi
On my Dell 700m I am trying to make suspend work. The battery life is just
horrible, 2 hours flat, so suspend is a must.
I installed a 2.6.9 kernel. When I do a suspend to memory
echo "mem" > /sys/power/state
It goes into suspend and the power light starts to blink. That is perfect.

Thanks
Compiling 2.6.9 now. Hope that fixes it.

Hi
I installed k3b to burn CD's but only able to do so while I am root.
I did all things possible (I think) to make burning for user available. I
installed cdrecord with SUID enabled, and also I updated the permissions so
that my username is in the "burning" group and also in the "cdrom" group.

Hi
On my laptop, a Dell 700m, which has a 30GB HDD, I hear a loud click every now
and then. I think I read it somewhere, that some harddrives or controllers
have a problem. Or it may have been a BIOS problem, but I cannot recall it. I
read it somewhere some time ago.
Did anybody has the same p

On my new Dell 700m I found a cardslot, that I cannot utilize.
I have external USB card reader, and when I install that I use sg3-utils to

Hi
I have a Dell Inspiron laptop, which works mostly with Debian Sarge. One thing
that bothers me, is that the touchpad wont recognize the TAP of a finger. For
example, I cannot click with the touchpad itself, but I have to press the
buttons below the touchpad. Does anybody experienced this?
