I'm running with a home-brew of the 2.4.9 kernel and somewhere during
that install I ran into problems building the modules for the pcmcia
stuff. Now

Hi,
I just downloaded the driver for my PCTel modem. I compiled it under a
2.4.7 and a 2.4.10 kernel. Both times I get unresolved symbols, whne I run
a depmod -a. When I insert the modules pctel and ptserial I get:

I actually am running gpm, and this was causing the problem. I turned
it off, and things worked great.

You probably have a ES1878 chipset. Try the sb_ess driver.

You probably have a ES1878 chipset. Try the sb_ess driver.
