I can confirm this bug.
My wireless card is a AR2413 802.11bg NIC (rev 01) and I'm using Ubuntu
9.04 with vanilla kernel 2.6.32.2.
When activating the card and loading the ath5k-module, dmesg says:

Hi, with the package linux-image-2.6.32-trunk-amd64 (version 2.6.32-3) the
driver ath5k is borken. Ok with version 2.6.32-2
