I also have this problem. It was better with 4.3, then it became
terrible with 4.4 (visiting graphically intensive sites in Chromium
would turn off the external DisplayPort)

Hello,
since version 3.2.0, when I resume from suspend the laptop screen
backlight turns on, but the screen contents remain all black. Other
monitors connected to the system wake up fine.
This bit of log from resume contains a relevant error:
