Update of this recent issue - I might not have specified the package
correctly, sorry for that - its the first bug I tried to report on
Debian - hey Debian really is that good :-)
I found some sort of workaround too, but its far from ideal a

Hello Paul and slimshady,
I'm reassigning this bug to raspi-firmware, as it relates to an already known
issue; the fix has been uploaded already for several weeks in unstable+testing,
but I will now prepare an upload for stable as well.
I'll follow

Bug #1049885 [linux-image-6.1.0-10-amd64] overlayfs: cannot rename symlink if
lower filesystem is NFS
Bug reassigned from package 'linux-image-6.1.0-10-amd64' to 'src:linux'.
No longer marked as found in versio
Package: linux-image-6.1.0-10-amd64
Version: 6.1.38-2
rename(2) on a symlink on an overlayfs where the lower filesystem is NFS
fails with ENXIO.
It can be reproduced as follows:
lower=/nfs/lower # /nfs should be an nfs mount
mkdir -p "${lower}" /upper /work /merged
touch "${lower}"/foo
ln -s foo
I think it's ok for the files to remain there, as long as there is a
clear indication that they are not used anymore to set command line
options, and furthermore, that the systemd units definitely do not use
them. I realize such a change will probably generate dpkg conf
prompts, though :/
