I've had a similar issue with Fedora's 3.17 kernel and indeed it was
fixed after an upgrade to 3.18.
If Jessie has the same bug, I agree it should best be fixed prior to its
release.
As a workaround on the 3.17 kernel I started the RPC idmapd service.

I got the same issue which drove me crazy for weeks and months. Every so
often or seldom, some (not all!) files/dirs suddendly belong to 4294967294.
Causing the strangest errors out of the view for my users due to software
