I've had a similar issue with Fedora's 3.17 kernel and indeed it was
fixed after an upgrade to 3.18.
If Jessie has the same bug, I agree it should best be fixed prior to its
release.
As a workaround on the 3.17 kernel I started the RPC idmapd service.
This service is normally no longer required on clients (as they use the
keyring thing now), but it worked around this bug for me. It may be a
workaround on Jessie also.
