It seems to work OK.
I got the linux-image .deb and dpkg -i'd it but it also needed
linux-base, so I got that too. dpkg -i'd it, but it needed
libuuid-perl. That exists in Etch so aptitude was able to fix things by
installing that from etch.
I then rebooted and tested catting the files under /p

but I don't know if they have been merged.
