Maybe you shouldn't. Are you using font AA (anti-aliasing)? Does this
still happen when you turn font AA off? If this helps, then it's an X
server bug that the KDE developers can't do anything about. This
problem is supposed to be fixed in XFree 4.2 ...

If root-tail can render to a file it will work with this setup as
well. Just take the Xearth command-line as a template (%f is the file
that you should render to).

There was a seperate release of KMail Cool AFAIK but that is pretty
outdated by now. You'd be probably better off running HEAD than KMail
Cool.

Pritint PDF files works correctly but printing the same
document as a PS file (produced via 'Print to file') is messed up.
Printing from KWord works correctly, though.
Any ideas? It seems that some documents override the custom margins!?

Check that you really own ~/.kde and that you have correct permissions
to access it. Maybe your change cannot be written to the appropriate
config file due to a permission
before they start up.
What could this be? I mean, this laptop's supposed to be two or three
times as fast as my old machine but it takes KDE applications much
more time to start up so something must be wrong.
Any suggestions?
