I noticed this morning that an update to KDE came in when I upgraded my sid
box which said that ZeroConf had been enabled using Avahi. But when I try
to use zeroconf:/ in Konqueror it says the protocol is not known. I have
restarted my KDE session between the upgrade and trying to use it.

Hmmm,
It appears the latest kdelibs packages (v3.5.1) doesn't like the KDE
currently in the archive (v3.5.0). kded keeps crashing with signal 6.
Unstable users not wanting to be bothered by a constant stream of
drkonqi windows may want to put the kdelibs packages[1] on hold until
more of v3.

Hi,
When I select Log Out from the K menu and click "End current session",

So I just did an apt-get upgrade, and now I'm running xserver 6.9.0. Alas,
the latest version of the matrox linux drivers only support 6.8.2.
Which means I don't have X11 anymore. Just a little blinking cursor on
a black screen.
Is it possible to downgrade to an older version of xserver until

Hi!
With KDE (3.5 for me) I can adjust the screen and my desktop resolution like
800x600 or 1024x768. But this is not the same as with CTRL+ALT+Kp_add or
Kp_Subtract, because with this method, I must scroll with my mouse cursor
thru my desktop, and my screen stays at it's original resolution, a

Which version of the matrox drivers are you using?
Are you using any special debian packages for matrox?
Do you have both screens working properly?
After trying what you suggested, x11 runs again (thank you very
much!!), but it looks like my driver is still not working correctly.
I have dual-head

Well, that's probably debatable these days. I'd say single-resolution LCDs

I modified the /etc/ppp/peers/kppp-options file to

Hi,
I have to logout twice before the system really starts to log out (or shut
down, (dependent of my choice). It happens on an ubuntu breezy system with

running). (I know this is a debian-kde list, but I am also work
