I modified the /etc/ppp/peers/kppp-options file to
comment out the "noauth" entry as directed in the
Debian Readme but the pppd fails immediately with the
following output:
Jan 28 13:29:40 ChatagnierL-Home pppd[5606]: The
remote system is required to authenticate itself
Jan 28 13:29:40 ChatagnierL-Home pppd[5606]: but I
couldn't find any suitable secret (password) for it to
use to do so.
Jan 28 13:29:40 ChatagnierL-Home pppd[5606]: (None of
the available passwords would let it use an IP
address.) with KPPP diagnosis unable to provide help.
I'm using LI-2.6.15-1-686 and everything works fine
with the 2.6.8-2-686 kernel. Prior to making the
Debian modification, KPPP didn't even dial as it
couldn't find the modem. Can anyone provide the fix
for this problem? I prefer to use KPPP as it's much
more convient. Any suggestion most welcome.
Plz copy my email-not subscribed. Thanks.
