I am just wondering where this package has gone? I don't see it in the 2.1.1
release of KDE. Has it been integrated with the normal kdebase, or has it
been removed?
Basically, will I still be able to use SSL connections from konqueror?

hmm...not sure what happened to the packages..I must of accidentally nuked
them during one of the updates...I rebuilt them and uploaded them.

Hi all,
with all the confusion on how to setup AA and what packages need to be
installed I have decided to add yet another task package.
task-kde-aa
The idea of this is to have deps/recommends/suggests for all AA related
packages including TTF packages and tools. This is also where

ok..I already changed my mind it's now task-anti-aliasing...no need
to have indiviudal tasks when a common one is sufficient.

Hi all,
I figured I'd let you all know that the Debian packages I was asked to
make of Kapital are now available on theKompany's ftp site.

Assuming you have got the OpenSSL package installed then I bet the problem is
that you are running WWWOFFLE as a cacheing proxy. Try disabling the proxy in
Konq (using the proxy setting - no need to actually stop or remove WWWOFFLE
itself).
My tests show that Konq is OK with SSL, Netscape and W
UPDATE: I've just done an upgrade via apt and two crypto packages got
upgraded. This must be the auth proxy fix someone mentioned. Anyway, whereas
yesterday with Konq and WWWOFFLE any attempt to access a SSL site (i.e.
HTTPS) just hung and eventually timed out, now I immediately get an error

On a potato box, P133, with a sound blaster 16 sound card, I can get a hard

If I logout to kdm, do a shutdown - reboot, the system goes down normally.
Then reboots to kdm, I select my account and log in. The splash does its

Agreed, WWWOFFLE a very flexible and powerful tool, with many uses.
I don't know how to have separate configs, but I've just added the main HTTPS
sites that I use in the "No Proxy" line in the Konq configuration of Proxies.
This works and is an acceptable solution for now.

Please ignore this "discovery" as it turns out the reason was just that
WWWOFFLE was in Offline mode, nothing to do with the new packages.
The best solution I have found for now is to add any sites which use HTTPS to
the "No Proxy" line in the Proxies config screen in Konq.

OpenSSL is in the Crypto directories on the Debian KDE site and its mirrors.
Assuming that you have "crypto" in your apt sources line for KDE then it
should be available and just do "apt-get install openssl".
I think Ivan provides this with the KDE packages as you need the exact
version that KD

I'm a long time Linux user but completely new to Debian.
I got a CD containing the deb packages for KDE 2.0. They are in a
directory named KDE2, distributed in subdirectories like x11, libs, ...
I wrote the command apt-cdrom and the packaging system recognized the
CD.
In fact, when I ran dselect, i
the proxy fix was not in the crypto packages.

Hi,
I've finally got rid of my font problems, which seemed to arise from
badly written configuration files. Noticing that one of my apps worked
fine (kedit), I wandered through my ~/.kde/share/config/keditrc, and
found the catch. In that file, the font was defined as:
