Take a look at ~/.xsession-errors maybe there's something that might help
finding the problem.

A few days ago I did a security update.
After I couldn't get knoqueror to start.
I restarted X.
After kde hung on start up.
I deleted ,kderc .mcoprc and ~/.kde.
Restarted and all went well.
Spent a few days resetting up everything.
Last night I turned off my computer when I restarted kde acted like
2 matches
