Is it necesseray for all the kdemultimedia packages to depend on xine? I
thought only libarts1-xine should?

Yes, I've also witnessed this bug a couple of times with 3.1.1 on sarge/sid.
Haven't worked out how to reliably reproduce it yet though.

I may be missing something very obvious, but
http://wh9.tu-dresden.de/kde3/karolina doesn't contain any binary packages
or a packages file. I also looked at
http://http://shakti.ath.cx/debian/kde3.1/ and there are packages here but
again no packages file.
Any ideas?
