libglib1.3-12 and run into the same thing I did. You'll need, perhaps,
to do the same with the kdebase3-audiolibs (and you do want to track
kdebase3, I'm pretty sure).

How's about (kmail running...)
Settings --> Configure KMail,
select the Miscellaneous options from the icon bar, and use one or more
of the New Mail Notification options, which are : Beep on new mail,
Display message box on new mail and/or Execute command line on new mail.
cellany are routed to /dev/null.

djust this and that in
the approach to a "stable" Woody, that breaks my system more often and
worse than the sometimes BIG changes that happen in unstable. I'm
thinking Lorentz Attractor, here.
