I am using PSI jabber client from sid. Also I am using karolinas 3.1 rc debs
(with the corosponding arts packages).
Sound events in psi doesn't work with these arts packages apparently.
Therefore I tried to compile PSI from source but during configure I ran into
problems.

Ok guys, I've had my share now - have fun with imlib :-)
I'm sorry that this happened so late (because otherwise it would be easier to
correct things), but I guess that's why I made the packages so nobody can
complain with the 3.1 release coming out

I am having quite a lot of trouble trying to compile Qt applications (Arson,
K3b, Scribus...) Despite having installed the "*-dev" packages, I still get the
error:
configure: error: Qt (>=Qt 3.0.3) (library qt-mt) not found. Please check your
installation!
./configure --with-extra-includes=/
Since installing the new packages my screen lock doesn't work properly. The
screen blanker starts after some inactivity as expected, it prompts me for a
password, but never lets me in!
Nothing relevant is logged.
My account data is stored in LDAP and the PAM LDAP module is used, this worked
