As the packages are made for woody it'll pick up libexif5 instead of libexif7. I try to get around backporting packages from unstable as much as possible so upgrades to kde-3.1 should only require minimal upgrades of third-party packages.
While you mention kamera - I build digikam, too. Now, out of interest, does anyone have a clue if there is a hotplug package that works like the SuSE one where a usb device is assigned to the group audio instead of root ? That's the way they work for making a device available to the user, in particular digicams (and scanners I think).
