I've been trying, like many others, it seems, to get postfix, tls, and sasl to play
nice. TLS was easy, but sasl is turning out not to be. I've tried lots with
pwcheck_method: pam in /etc/postfix/sasl/smtpd.conf, and gotten nowhere, so I thought

The problem was rather simple, the sistem depends on the imap to
access the mail. After checking the horde imp apache apache-ssl and
posgresql, I look to the simple and restart the inetd to reinciate the
daemond. And magic works out.

remotely access the bios and lilo boot menu, so you can reboot with an
older kernel when anything goes wrong with your new kernel.
