Hi,
I have a machine which runs Debian, mail server, et al. Also on the
network, (not LAN, but bandwidth is good), is an NT with a Travan IDE.
I need to take a backup, infrequently, of the debian. Is there any
client-server suite I could use on this congiguration? I need to backup

I stayed in the Philadelphia Central City Marriott a little while ago, and
they had a great third-party provided product called STSN(?). It was a
little box with an ethernet port that worked instantly with no difficulties.
It could assign settings to you based on DHCP if your laptop required that,

After few days, I installed Debian 2.2.18, I saw strange

daemons:

look up CHIPA at google. You will find various half-assed
programs listed.
Realistically, if the school is not willing to use this as
a learning experience for the students about the big bad world,
then you might be better off just unplugging the box.
