you have to force a new check of the usermode package to fix the

The goal is therefore more to create the infrastructure to handle this
situation than to try to keep these formats and work with them.

It could indeed be a good idea for po-reluctant people. Everybody would
be free to choose either to translate directly po files, or to
reconvert po files into another format and then translate it. It's
just a little bit more complex, but it should be doable.

new package appears not to be using po-debconf, I fill a bug immediatly
(the last one is gom, #356202). I'm not sure increasing the severity of
these bugs is the right solution -- not having debconf translatable is
not critical. Reporting every maintainer to [EMAIL PROTECTED] may be a
better solution.

Is a tutorial explaining how to install reportbug really needed in such

However, with these criteria, wxwidgets is a debian-specific package

Please don't forget that intltool-debian scripts are already mainly doing
this job. This is not a hack to use them: even if the main frontends
(debconf-updatepo and po2debconf) have a name which is debconf-related,
these tools are generic and can be used in this situation.

Note that I implemented a very basic script to update the status on the
