Bad news. It seems that gcc-3.0.3 (debian version 3.0.3-1) still
misscompiles this thing at -O2. As for the snapshot package,

Oops...my error...3.0.4 debs for powerpc aren't in incoming yet. I'm
building the snapshot now, though.
